Axel Wild
Axel Wild (real name Axel Drioli) was born in Trieste, Italy. In 2013, he bought a one-way ticket to London (UK) to learn English and pursue his dream of becoming a renowned electronic music DJ and producer. Inspired by the funky French musical wave of Daft Punk, DJ Mehdi, FKJ, and the underground UK Bass scene, he studied Sound Engineering for Music and Film, specialising in Spatial Audio design and production.

During his studies in London, Axel developed a passion for wildlife sounds, from bird songs to underwater recordings and the calls of Golden Jackals, reconnecting him to nature like never before.
He has since worked as a Spatial Audio designer for the Philharmonia Orchestra and various festivals around the world, while also serving as a wildlife sound recordist and producer for BBC Springwatch and The Guardian. His work has earned him awards in film projects under his brand, Sounding Wild.

To further his artistic vision, Axel embarked on a life-changing expedition with his brother Ario—a photographer, graphic designer, and videographer. They loaded their lives into a 4x4 vehicle and followed bird migration routes through Europe and West Africa, recording the sounds of migratory birds and sharing them with locals. This journey gave birth to the Wings Across Continents project.
​​While travelling, Axel began experimenting with sampling wildlife sounds, discovering a creative spark that allowed him to blend these elements into his music. This led him to craft unique beats that combine nature's sounds with funk, house, hip-hop, and jungle, drawing on the professional skills he has developed over time.
​Axel's debut EP is set for release at the end of 2024 on his label, Sounding Wild Records. This label not only compensates composers and sound recordists but also gives back to wildlife by donating a percentage of the profits to NGOs that protect these exact animals and their habitats.
