Sierra Leone, between forest and music, and wish you a relaxing holiday!

Hello!

Sounds Across Continents started in not the easiest way, and the first month of the expedition ends with Axel getting Salmonella Typhoid, which is not fun, but curable. We have so many ways to keep you updated, all below!

But first of all, we wanted to wish you a relaxing and regenerating holiday. Take this time to appreciate whatever you like, family, friends or time on your own, without feeling pressure or anxiety. Make sure to recharge your batteries, and enjoy some nature time if you can, in the city or the countryside.

We are grateful for what we have, and we won't thank you enough for the support given to us.

A big loving hug from Sounding Wild.

Have you followed the updates?

During Wings Across Continents 2023-2024 we shared a monthly newsletter, which was very appreciated by many of you, and we'll always be grateful for it. But we realised how this may not be in line with Sounding Wild, where sound is the most important medium for us.

Hence why we started releasing updates on the expedition in various formats, there are enough ways to follow the journey to satisfy most needs!

Sonic Migration, our new podcast in collaboration with Soundquake.

Jake Lee-Savage is a musician, sound recordist, podcast producer, friend, former Axel's mentee, colleague and friend. Axel and Jake like to catch up and talk about the wildlife sounds we find, music, and foods, so why not run a podcast as an excuse to catch up even more often?

Sonic Migrations is a Sounding Wild x Soundquake production, the latter being a renowned podcast production house with many series under its belt already, and Jake is the podcast producer. With their expertise, we're aiming at creating a podcast which is all about travelling, wildlife sounds, and challenges for such a project, all while on a quest for the migratory species Axel is looking for.

The first two episodes are out on all major streaming platforms, check them out, give them a follow and please give a review! It will help us so much on the long run.

Voice notes from the field.

Axel has been releasing fairly consistently (typhoid allowing) a series of voice notes he records daily during the expedition. The voice notes can be about travelling, the birds found, human stories, happy stories, and difficulties. They are only a few minutes long, perfect to listen to when time's limited, which nowadays is most of the time...

They are freely available on Substack, a great platform where to share stories for free. Make sure to subscribe to the page to get an update every time there is a new episode out.

Social media is full-on!

We've decided to keep the social media channels constantly updated, and we so much appreciate all your support and interactions! We're on the majority of social media platforms for now, and over the coming months, we'll see which ones to give priority to.

Help us to spread the love for migratory birds.

Would you like to take part in the expedition by supporting us and the local nature reserves? Easy peasy, we have an online shop made just for this!

Our Interactive Postcards, Prints and Albums are available on our Ko-Fi page or Bandcamp.

By purchasing our work you support our expedition, feeding us and helping us fill up our vehicles’ tanks to reach all the migration hotspots where we bring our Immersive Experience, but not only. 10% of the profit goes back to the location where the story has been captured.

What you buy supports us and the local communities we visit, not as a one-off, but in the longer run.

If you’ve got a Print or Postcard already, check your email inbox as you should have received the password.

Much love from the brothers,

Axel & Ario
